Happy 4th of July! To follow up the teaser, it is time for the full meal deal. I had a hard time picking out my favorites from this one. There were a lot of pictures as I was shooting for over 13 hours(=best day ever). You can see more pictures in this gallery. Everyone was so much fun. It was truly a happy day all around. The weather couldn’t have been better. The bride and groom were gracious enough to invite me to eat lunch and dinner with them. The food was amazing. Lunch at the Grand America and dinner at the Red Maple. Dinner was true Cantonese. I never thought I would say I had eaten shark, jellyfish, abalone, sea cucumbers, etc. I had to think of Bear Grylls to get myself to try some of this stuff. I also got to work with an amazing videographer, Kale from Kale Fitch Productions. His video work is fresh and modern. I have never seen a bride and groom so happy when viewing their video for the first time.

Isabel + Haksu – Grand America wedding teaser

I know it has been a while. I am sorry. Life just goes too fast sometimes. My most recent wedding was last weekend at the Grand America. That place is gorgeous! I have not had time to get through all pictures yet. I was shooting for about 13 hours so you can bet there are a lot. I don’t believe I have ever shot that many in one day. Isabel and Haksu were outstanding. They were very gracious. I could not believe the energy and great attitudes everyone had all day. It was so much fun. I will go into more details after I get all of the pictures processed and do a full blog post. For now, enjoy some of my favorites. I would love to hear what you think about them.

Disneyland 2010

It had been a while since we took our kids to Disneyland. About 6 years too long. I had almost forgotten how great that place really is. This trip was probably one of my all time favorite trips of my life. Our kids are at the perfect ages. We also got to bring along our neighbors and best friends, the Kinikinis. We woke our kids up in the morning and told them we were going to St. George for the weekend. We had everything packed and ready to go thanks mostly to my wife. Love ya sweetie! When we arrived in St. George we had lunch and then broke the news that we were going on to our final destination, Disneyland. That was fun! The kids faces were priceless. We ended up spending a day at Laguna Beach and I was able to try out my new lens that I had got in the mail a few days before. The tilt shift lens is a blast. It gives a very different perspective. It is a little harder to use though, as it is manual focus only. Check out the pics and let me know what you think.

Stacie’s Bridal Session | Salt Lake City, Utah

Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back. Most of you probably don’t remember the song but it brings back lots of childhood memories for me. Yes, I must be getting old. It is bound to happen to all of us eventually. I have lots of fun and exciting things coming up in the next few months. Lots of weddings, engagement sessions and bridal sessions. The last bridal show I participated in was so successful that I have decided to do it again. It will be at the Southtown Expo Center on April 17th. Well, on to the task at hand. I met Stacie, her mom and her friend at Temple Square in Salt Lake City to shoot her bridal pictures. It was cold and rainy. Most brides would call it their worst nightmare. Stacie was awesome! Not one complaint and she had fun. If you look closely below you can actually see raindrops streaking down and goose bumps on her arms in some of the pictures. Brett + Heather Engagement Session | Salt Lake City, Utah

Here we are again. It has been a crazy year so far. I don’t think I have had a chance to breath since the new year started. It has been a great year so far though. Many great things happening and a lot of accomplishments. I am trying hard to stick to my two resolutions this year. They are very broad but that is working for me. How are you doing with your resolutions?

The bridal show back in January was a big success. I owe a big thanks to Brett and Dustin for helping me out. I couldn’t have done it without them. I got a lot of bookings and met a lot of fun people. I think this is going to be a big year for Legend Photography!

On to more important subjects, I went out with Brett and Heather last Saturday to shoot their engagement session. We started in downtown SLC at 8am for the first hour. It was really cold! My fingers went completely numb. It was worth it though, we found some cool new locations and got some great results. the light was perfect. After the first hour we went up in the hills above downtown. Once again, another awesome new location. It was warmer, although you can’t really tell by the goose bumps on Heathers arms. I can’t believe they both decided to finish the session in t-shirts. crazy-ness! What you see below is not for the faint of heart. There is kissing! Hope you enjoy.

Bridal Show at La Caille | January 16th

My new years resolution is to be more determined and focused. So far so good. I am working on improving everything in my life. Working out more often. Spending more time doing the good things and less time doing the things that waste time. Hope I can keep it up and keep improving. What is your resolution?

I am very excited to be bringing in this new year with my first ever bridal show at La Caille. If you have never been there, the place is magical. It is gorgeous! The show will be on January 16th from 11am to 6pm. My booth number is M10 which is in the main floor room right by the door. I would love to see you there. Dallen’s Pizza Parlor | Silent Auction

The Boudrero family lives in our neighborhood and are our good friends. Their 10 year old son Dallen is a wonderful, kind boy. He was one of my scouts and I loved working with him. Dallen developed Autism as a young boy. I have always felt a close connection to Dallen. I believe part of that connection is that my nephew also has Autism. There have been some new treatments in the last couple of years that are helping dramatically and even curing this illness. Dallen’s parents want to give him the chance to see if these treatments will help him. It is going to be very expensive. Myself and others want to help with this burden. They are having a fundraising luncheon and silent auction. Please read below for the details. I believe we can make a difference for this family. Come have some pizza for Dallen. Thanks
